You may have experienced lines to get into the pool due to larger than usual crowds. Remember, only a few City pools are open this year. The City of Atlanta Aquatics Department has arranged additional security at the pool starting on Thursday, June 4, and is working to implement
other measures to improve your experience at the pool.
Don't forget, Grant Park and surrounding neighborhoods have special morning swim hours available from 11:00 to 1:00 on weekdays. Normal admission fees apply, but the pool is far less crowded during this time than it can be in the afternoon or evenings. Just say you're a Friend of Grant Park Pool.
Lap swimming is available weekdays from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Usual admission fees apply to lap swimmers except during afternoon free swim time.
The Friends of Grant Park Pool are now on Twitter
(http://www.facebook.com/l/;www.twitter.com). The latest pool news will appear on the front page of our website, or Twitter users can follow us @grantparkpool.
Our next pool dine-out will be at The Shed
(http://www.facebook.com/l/;www.theshedatglenwood.com) on June 30, 2009. The Shed will donate 10% of that day's sales to the Friends of Grant Park Pool. The Shed has organic baby food and a great kid's menu, so bring the family and support the Grant Park Pool!
As always, Friends of Grant Park Pool remains committed to working with the City of Atlanta to ensure a safe and clean pool for EVERYONE to enjoy together.
