one last post from me!

hi coordinators and playgroup members,

just a quick rehash about the new system of distributing info throughout playgroups and to the greater GPPN membership.

ANYONE can go post an announcement, add an event, or put in a new nanny, school, pediatrician etc.  go to
http://www.grantparkparents.org/net/content/news.aspx?s=0.0.116.10495 or the most recent newsletter and just click "add announcement" on the left column or "add an event" on the right column depending on what you have to share.  the other items above are tabbed under "resources" and there is a bar that says "add new resource" or you can go to the correct category and do it from there.

at this point i'm no longer doing postings or cross distributions at all (phew!).  :)

thanks for your help in getting this information circulated!

Excellent nanny looking for job

Hello,  could you all please post this for me?  I have an amazing friend looking for a nanny position.  I am sure she will be a great addition to any family!
Thanks!  Susana Sharpley

My name is Christy Sasser and I'm interested in a part time nanny position (approx. 18-24 hours a week) for children of any age.  I'm 32 years old, have my master's in counseling psychology and recently began a 3 year part time internship as a psychotherapist working with children, families and adults.   I love kids, have experience taking care of children and have volunteered in the community leading children's activities including being a head coach of a 5 & 6 year old basketball team at the YMCA.  I have a pretty flexible schedule, except for Tuesday mornings from 9-12.  If you are interested in talking with me, please call me at 415-676-9437 or email csasser363@yahoo.com.

Fw: Zebra-grams: sitter needed

I am in need of a sitter starting in August for Monday, Wednesday and possible occasional Friday afternoons from 2-5.  I have 4 year old twin boys and a 7 month old daughter.  We live near Grant Park.

It offers innovative programs, services and virtual resources tailored to meet the needs of each branch's community. Children, teens and adults may choose from a variety of classes, visit exhibitions, listen to authors discuss their work, check out videos, DVDs and CDs, attend book club discussions, get homework help, hear music and see live performances. Last year patrons borrowed more than 3.8 million items, made 4 million visits to the libraries and our website had over 6 million hits.

Hi, Julie:

Could you share this? I know it is very last minute, so thanks. (I've signed up for the Yahoo group, but have not been approved yet.)

I have a friend who has two tickets for Sunday's 2 PM performance of Thomas & Friends Live On Stage at the Fox. She is not able to attend and would like to sell them. They are Loge level, row CC and should be good seats. They are $25 each and then with fees, the total for both tickets was close to $66. http://events.hitentertainment.com/us/thomas-live-on-stage/index.asp

If someone interested, they should contact her directly as I will be out of town. Her name is Traci Cupp. Her email is tracicupp@yahoo.com and her phone number is 404-512-1307.

Thanks!

Jamie

Subject: Nicholas House

Hi Tamara,

Could you send this out to the groups?

Thanks,

Kim

Hello All,

I just spent an evening volunteering at Nicholas House, the shelter for formerly homeless families on Boulevard and Delmar. While is it nice to know that Nicholas House provides a home for so many children, I could not help reflecting on how bleak these kids' days are--each family lives in a single room with very little to do in the way of constructive activities, and many of them had to leave their homes with not much more than the clothes on their backs. When I think of the number of games and books my kids can burn through in an hour I really feel for the parents who have to keep their kids happy under such circumstances. There is an activity room, but it is locked except during specific times.

I have collected some books to give to the kids personally, rather than to the institution. They would also benefit from things like puzzles, Play-Doh, and art supplies. I plan to deliver the things I have collected July 4; if anyone has books, clothes, toys, etc. that they would like to contribute, please shoot me an e-mail and I will be happy to come by and pick them up (you are also welcome to leave them on my porch, 589 Cameron St).

Thanks!

Kim

Hi Julie,

Could you send out an email for me? We have an amazing nanny and are looking for a family in the neighborhood to share her with beginning in mid-August. Our son is almost 3 so we would love a toddler age child, but will happily talk/meet with parents of younger children.

Thanks so much!

Fw: Glenwood Market THIS WEEKEND! Saturday AND Sunday!

----- Original Message -----
Sent: Wednesday, June 24, 2009 2:39 PM
Subject: Glenwood Market THIS WEEKEND! Saturday AND Sunday!

Saturday's market is on the move! And we have some really exciting events planned for the market this weekend!

This Saturday you will find the market in The Shed at Glenwood's parking lot, same time as usual - 10am - 2pm.
Easier to find us, easier to park and easier to drop in to The Shed and grab a glass of something cold and refreshing and a couple of the finest BluePointe Oysters for just $1.50 ea/$15 per dozen after shopping the market or sit on the terrace and watch the world go by and listen to music from the talented students from Vision Music!

Saturday's Market at The Shed:
Kids love popsicles - especially in this crazy heat but what we don't love is the sugar & artificial colors that they contain.
Join Agatha Achindu of Yummy Spoonfuls Baby Food - recently featured on CNN, for a Healthy Popsicle Class at 11am on Saturday!  The Market Kids activity table will keep your little monkeys busy while Agatha shares some great ideas and tips for Popsicles they will love and will actually be good for them (hint - she even sneaks some veggies into them!).

Hardright Bakeries will be here on both days with their freshly baked bread, baguettes, pies, cakes plus fresh Georgia Grown Produce!

We are very excited to welcome Calyroad Creamery with their delicious fresh Goat Cheeses to the market:
Robin Schick and Cathy Spivey founded CalyRoad Creamery in the Spring of 2009. Teaming up with

Sheila Simpson of 7 B Bar Dairy, it's their mission to provide fresh farmstead cheese to the Atlanta
area.

For the past week, our house has smelled like a tropical beach vacation thanks to the deliciously scented Coconut Lime Soy Candle from Tiffany's Candles, it's a feelgood candle in more ways than one, as part of the proceeds of her sales go to The Autism Society of America http://www.autism-society.org
Check out all her fabulous candles on Saturday and donate to a great cause.

Vesta Cole
will be at the market with her fantastic Scrappy Skirts, so fun & cute for the kids - we wish she made grown up sizes!

Something else for the little ones - Lovely Tenel at Malanie's Fun & Tasty Treats will be face-painting ladybugs, fire trucks, butterflies, whatever their hearts desire for free! And don't forget her amazing Candy Apples, crisp green granny smiths smothered with chocolate, caramel, Oreos, nuts and more - they are the best!

We are also excited to welcome Honeysuckle Soap to the market - they hand make their soaps using the cold process method with high quality natural oils.

www.honeysucklesoap.com

Leslie Christian with her wonderful crochet crafts will be here. Leslie is a fifth generation crocheter and knitter from the Bahamas - interesting fact about Leslie - it was her uncle who cast the deciding vote for the Bahamas Independency on July 10 1973!

Michey's Ices will be here too, to cool you down with some delicious & refreshing Italian Ice!

Sunday's Market in The Square!

We have FRESH PRODUCE coming from local farmers Scott Reaver and Bijan Farahdel, just waiting to hear what's being picked and we will put it up on the blog www.gpfm.blogspot.com

Live music from the students of Little Five Points Music Center http://l5pmusiccenter.com/

Face Painting & Candy Apples from Malanie's Fun & Tasty Treats

Refreshing Italian Ices from Michey

Hardright Bakeries -
Freshly baked breads and sweets.

Pearl River Jams, Jellies
& Fresh Johnston's Dairy Milk - now in CHOCOLATE & 2%!

Leslie Christian's Crochet Crafts

Honeysuckle Soaps

Don't forget your 15% discount at Vickery's, The Shed and Matador Cantina with any market purchase on both market days!

SEE YOU THERE!
